i'm considering one of these. the only bad thing i've heard so far is: changing reticles will change the point of impact, you have pick one and zero it with that one. i can live with that. my concern is with durability, anyone know of anything that would disqualify this optic from being considered "field worthy"? it's supposedly nitro filled, fog/water proof. anyone know how it would co-witness with an arms 40L? i don't mean to sound cheap, but i really don't like the idea spending $300-$400 bux on a scope when i have BUIS. i would make an exception in the EOtech's case if i didn't absolutely hate the way it looks. no offence meant to the EO lovers, it's bad ass, i just can't stomach the look of it. thanks |
| I have one on my bushy and the point of impact does move from setting to setting. Once I figured this out I left it on the Eotech type sight. It has done well since. I don't try to tear it up but I shoot alot and pig hunt with it. It is well worth what I payed for it. I just can't make up my mind between eotech and aimpoint so I will continue using the Bushnell til I decide. I am waiting to see the new Holosight also. |
you'll get mine, soon thanx for the tip on the high rings, that was my main concern - cowitness, in the event i need my irons. i guess it doesn't come with high ones, eh? i ordered mine from midway. |
|
Well, Midway has them on sale for $74.99 so I went ahead and ordered one. Like TPH, I plan to use it until I decide what to get for myself, then I'm going to put the Bushnell on my wife's AR. She does not shoot rifles nearly as much as her revolver much so it's harder to justfiy getting an expensive optic for her. Thanks for the opinions. We'll see how it performs. ETA: How long does the battery last on this thing? I also ordered a pack of five extra batteries ($7), which should last me a while. |
So what was it that you didn't like about it? I'm sure the EOTech is better, but I still haven't decided between that and the CQ/T. (I don't like the Aimpoint.) Besides, my wife briefly tried the Bushnell and she liked it, so I was going to get one for her anyway. |

that's funny, i asked my wife if she would rather me put it on her mini 14 than have me send it back field of view too narrow. too much of the scope's "body" inside my view (distracting). ALOT of trouble co-witnessing even with high rings. in all fairness, the dot looks alot cleaner for long range slow/aimed/precision shots, but all in all i just don't like it. good luck, different strokes for different folks. i hope you love yours |
