I recently purchased an inexpensive red dot sight , this is my first experience using one of these.
I have it mounted to a rifle and when sighting thru it the red dot is not centered or stationary like the cross hairs on a regular scope.
When I look thru the sight I am having to make sure the dot is centered.  I would have thought the dot would be in the center all the time, I have not fired the rifle yet. I just wanted to hear from some of you first. Thanks in advance

on qaulity red dot sights, the dot should be placed on the target, and as you move your eye around behind it, the dot should move inside the scope, but remain on target. on cheaper red dots, the dot will usually stay on target in the center of the scope.
