| I may be wrong but I think I remember you having the ARMS Swan Sleeve that I mentioned in my earlier post in this forum. In fact, I think it was a picture of one of your carbines that persuaded me to order it from MSTN's website. Could you please provide any input into the questions I raised in my earlier post? I'd appreciate it greatly! Thanks!! |
| Thank you for replying. The question is really specific to an ARMS Swan Sleeve that I thought Lumpy and I both had. It is the 38 EXS Mod L I believe. He has probably moved onto bigger and better things than that but I still have it attached to my KAC RAS and the flat top upper on my AR. My questions were about cowitnessing the Eotech with the standard front sight. Because the Swan Sleeve is slightly elevated from the flat top rail it appears that this may be a tougher proposition than I thought. I was wondering if there was any hope of getting the two to cowitness in the center of the holosight window. Do you have any advice for this? Thank you in advance! |
| That's too bad. I guess it doesn't really matter if they are cowitnessed. Come to think of it, this is a perfect excuse to get rid of the standard front sight and have a flip-up installed instead. That way I could at least get it out of the sight picture through the Eotech. |

Do you have an original RAS? If I were you, I'd consider ditching it and getting a LaRue 7.0. It may have a "gap" between the handguard and flattop, but I have my Eotech 552 all over the handguard (pushed back towards the receiver as far as it goes short of going over the "gap") and I've liked it thus far. I may try mounting it over the gap too, but I haven't had time to play with it. By the way, the SWAN sleeve definitely won't let you co-witness an Eotech. An Aimpoint though with a low ring or ARMS 22 will however. themao

If you have the EOTech mounted on the Swan Sleeve don't worry about your front sight you won't be seeing it (beyond the tips of the front sight ears). Keep the fixed front sight. |
