Hello all I know we are all fans of the ACOG and other scopes that are more than the rifle its self, I love em, but I have a small problem. Im short on money, and im getting a AR15 Flat Top really soon, so I would like to buy a regular rifle scope, not a aimpoint or below 4x mag. Now looking, and seaching I found a post "Cheap Scopes?" It helped a lot and from what it looks like the Bushnell is probably the best for around 120. Right now at the local sport shop they are having a %20  off all rifle scope and here is what i found.
First One
second one Now i have never seen a review of a Alpen, and wondering how is it?

Also are there any scopes you would recomend for at the most $150? One more quick question, when you have a varible mag scope, the POI changes when you go from like 4x to maybe 6x, correct?

Thanks,
Archer

find a used aimpoint.  i got mine for just over $200.  trust me on this, it's worth it!  it will probably hold it's value fairly well too unlike the 'cheaper stuff'.

Yea i should have mentioned I did not want a red dot, probably should have been more clear about the "Normal rifle scope" part. BTW have you ever heard of the second brand?

sorry, i didn't read it all..

i've never heard of the 2nd brand.. for around your price range i would get a bushnell, probably the 10x mil dot model.

SWFA has that Bushnell for $100.

$150.00 is sort of a tight budget for glass, IMO, but you can always look for used stuff in that price range. Also, I have heard not-terrible stuff about the Simmons '44Mag' series, most of which are under $150.00. Never heard of the Alpen, btw.

Of course, Plan B is saving a bit more and getting a Leupold Rifleman for ~200 bucks or so.

i would avoid simmons.. i just picked up a Leupold Rifleman ($199) recently and it is a good scope.  the only downside is that the windage and elevation adjustments are friction instead of clicks.

I swear I am not going crazy! But if I was, I don't suppose swearing that I wasn't would mean much. Ah well, it looks like I looked at the wrong scope? (The one right above it.)
