I have a BM M4A2 and a Surefire 961 I wish to mount. I stupidly purchased a set of Fobus/First Samco two railed handguards that will only allow mounting at 12 & 6 o'oclock(where the heat shield indentations are for the gas tube). The 961 is too long for mounting underneath and on top is out. So, I need help as I know nothing about railed guards as to what to get for side mounting of the light @ 9 oclock. I have an ACOG on the CH and want the 961 on the handguard, no vertical grip, just the light.
Thanks.

You have many options/ choices for mounting the SF light you own in the configuration desired. Knights, Yankee Hill, ARMS are but a couple sources of forearm manufacturers who have a product that would suffice. Bushmaster has a good looking option as well.

Your pocket book is the limiting factor here. I will not recommend one source over anyother but there are several one stop shopping places to hook you up. Do you already have a mounting ring?

Price is not a consideration. I am not sure what you mean by a mounting ring? It is attached via double thumb screws to the rail. I guess I just need a four rail guard, non floating. I will check BM site.
Thanks.

I just realized this is the wrong forum-sorry!

You do realize you can rotate those Fobus M33s so the rails are at 9:00 and 3:00?  That would allow you to position your light where you want it.

Another options is getting the GG&G sight tower mount (it puts a piece of rail on the sight tower so the light can be mounted at 10:30-11:00).

The Surefire handguard is a good high quality option at a decent price.

On looking at the heat shields, the indentations for the gas tube would line up at 6 & 12. If the rails are rotated for 3 &9  then there would be no heat shield at the 12 position above the gas tube, just plastic where the shields end . You can do it, but I don't want to. In taking the suggestions from the more knowledgable members here I chose YHM 4 rail 2 piece aluminum guards from Ameetec. I thank everyone for their assistance.
