What is the preferred method for attaching a night vision device to an SPR type weapon with a Leupold MR/T?

SIMRAD KN253 or KN203

They run about $8600 for LE/Military,  not sure if they are available on the civilian market at any price. Incredible resolution, compared to a PVS14 etc.   I'll try and grab a picture.

If you try and use a PVS14 on a scope with 3" or 4" of eye relief, the scope must be moved really far forward to account for the eye relief and the length of the NOD. it not real practical as a day weapon then.

Does anyone have a link to the coupler device used for attaching a PVS-14 to a conventional day scope?

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about, courtesy of Pinco Palla:

Here's another:

What ever method you are going to use prepare for a HUGE outlay of cash. I recently got to try one of these

www.omnitechpartners.com/osti/html/products/uns.asp

On an SPR in front of a Leupold M1LR and we were able to ding steel plates at 200 yards with almost boring ease. Problem is a UNS is $8600.00 and the one were were using is on loan alas.

Thanks IPSC_GUY.  That is what I was looking for...  Knew it would not be cheap.

How does the Universal Night Sight compare with the PVS14?

Well, alas I hate to say it but the UNS is better than the PVS 14. We had a 14 there as well. I think that the larger objective lens just gathers more light and the variable gain seemd to have more range as strange as that sounds. We were able to clearly see out to 200 and shoot on the small 12 inch steel targets with ease. If I had the money I would get one.

To address the distance issue, would it be practical to use a Surefire with hi-output lamp and IR filter to extend the usable range, and even generate a clearer picture through the NOD for up close?

IMHO the smallest ,lightest and best quality image solution should be the UNIVERSAL WEAPON SIGHT from Knight's , to be mounted directly in front of the main scope .
