Is it the same exact construction minus the NV capability as the M2 and if so is it meant specifically for the civilian/LEO market?

Simply a lower price point Aimpoint for civis and L.E. not requiring a red dot with NVD compatability.

Aimpoint Conmp ML2  Switch, dot brightness 10 positions, Off and 9 daylight, of which 1 Extra Bright

Aimpoint Comp M2      Switch, dot brightness 10 positions, 4 NVD, 6 daylight, of which 1 Extra Bright

I guess the price difference is in the switch

Most of the price difference is actually in the lens.  The CompM2 lens is made to reflect a narrow frequency range that includes the red of the diode.  The CompML2 and our other sights have a lens that reflects everything from red through infrared.  That makes it much less desireable for use with a quality NVD, since Gen III and better use the Near-IR and IR frequencies to intensify the image.

Thanks Aimpoint.

I've never looked through my M2 AND a night vision device.
BUT, I have had a PVS-14 on my left eye, while looking through the aimpoint with my right.
That worked fine for me.
I'd maybe put BOTH NVD and M2 on a SAW.
But not a rifle.
