I have a question, will an EOtech's aluminum hood fit on a  Bushnell holo sight Model #51-0021. These look identical except fot the hood, can I buy a replacement hood from Eotech. I'm getting ready to buy a Bushnell holo sight and am wondering if they are equal to the Eotech? Who makes waht. Does EOtch make holo sight, or vise versa? Should I save $100.00 and buy a Bushnell or pay the extra and buy a Eotech, please help bedor I go and buy one, thanks Billy

If you're bashing down doors or just plain clumsy, buy the EOTech. Otherwise, save your money and get the Holoscope.

Lo mismo, mas o menos.

Either way, grab 'em while you can, EOTechs are a scarce commodity what with the current unpleasantness going on.

I think the holotech also lacks waterproofing (or at least my old one does), but have not taken mine into the shower yet.

Bushnell Holosight is made by EOTech, ti is the same as the EOTech 502.

these sight lack the waterproof capability, lesser electronics, it is not compatible with Le and the military model in adding a hood because the sight body is not drilled or have the slot for the hood rial to slip into.

SMGLee, I have three Eotechs, a 552 and two 512's.  I recently picked up, in a trade, a Bushnell AA model.  I note the differences you list, thanks for the info.

But my real question is, what about reliability of the Bushnell compared to the Eotech?  If I am not going swimming with it, or "banging down doors", will the Bushnell work as well for me?

I have a Holosight on my Mforgery...it's performed flawlessly so far, through the light duty I subject it to....out of the safe, to the range, and back.

If you're you're pretty sure that's all you'll ever be doing with it, then I think you'll be perfectly happy.  If you think you may actually bang it around a little, then you're probably better off ponying up the extra bucks for an Eotech.

Buy the 511 /512 model and you will never regret it. You may not be a door kicker, but you could drop your rifle on concrete, get caught in a down pour, get attacked by zombie aliens, or any other SHTF situation. Besides, you get tha cool "law enforcement/ military use"  sticker on the side

Maybe this is just me, but short of kicking in doors, etc, i actually prefer the Bushnell. I find the hood on the EOtech creates some visual distratciont for me. Since it's set off of the body of the sight, it creats to more "concentric rings" -- the hood itself, and the space between the hood an sight.

Anyone else note this? Or am I easily visually dsitracted?

I think you are easily distracted. My hood don;t bother me, besides you can take the hood off.

But if you're going to take the hood off, why not save the $$ and buy the Bushnell in the first place?

Like I said, maybe just me. I have solved the probelm with a little foam to fill the space.

For me, the question is to go "professional grade" for about $300 or basic for about $250...thats not a real big price difference for an optic. Just my 2 cents...and I'm usually thrifty.
