I'd like to hear some feedback from folks using the EO Tech on a flattop with a flip up front sight as a backup. That looks like a real good combo to me. I've looked at the EO's and think that the sight picture would be a lot better if the front sight was not always in the field of view. Anybody else like em better that way? IF I was planning on going with a single dot (aimpoint type) I'd keep the front sight for sure. Thanks!

You can get the LaRue Tactical EOTech mount and it will fix the issue with the front sight tower being in your FOV...

I saw a couple of posts about that and it looks like a good idea. However, if I have not yet aquired the upper, why not just get it set up with a flip up front sight when I do? Probably save a little $ over the mounting bracket and still serve the same purpose...

A flip up front sight is a good choice. It still doesn't give you a QD capability (100% repeat zero) and a mounting platform for a PVS-14 or the new Magnification system that is coming out from EOTech.

Thanks,

That is the older style Troy (which is no longer made). The new model will have two aperatures and should be out in another week or so...

I'm not sure I'm following (dumbass that I am) If you can't see the front sights, then you don't have a backup. Tell me what I'm missing here.

Your not a dumb ass, I just didn't explain it well enough. The FSB is still in your FOV, but the bottom of the 65MOA outer circle is not longer blocked...

C4, what's the rail on the EOTech mount for?

It is for either a PVS-14 (using a LT PVS-14 mount) or for the new EOTech magnification system (when it comes out)...

Ah so, thank you!  I was gonna get a LaRue PVS14 mount, but it took so long and I found a great deal on a PRI mount (for $125 hehe) so I grabbed it.
