2 questions:

1)  how do you remove the lens covers on an aimpoint?  from the box, there at 11 o'clock right now and get in the way of my field of view.  i don't think i want to just put them in the 6 o'clock position.  i think i want to just take them off and use a neoprene hood for storage and transport.

2) are there any tricks to centering the aimpoint in the mount.  i have a larue qr mount.  i just eye balled it when i first installed the aimpoint in the larue.  but, now i want to locktight the aimpoint in place and i would like to make sure the sight is level and correctly positioned.

thanks

1.)  Just pull hard, I guess

2.) Run the bottom screws in.  Then start the top two screws.  Tighten them just until your Aimpoint will not move, then back them off JUST A HAIR.  Adjust your Aimpoint.  Place mount on it's base, down on a flat surface. Hold Aimpoint in place with one hand, and tighten Torx screws with other hand.

Thumb pressure pushing out on the hinge will get them off...but they are there GOOD.

What Mcgrubbs said on mounting...

1) Pull and twist, they are on tight, so you will have to apply some force.

2) I eye balled mine myself

I used small levels placed on mount and Aimpoint to assure perfect mounting.  The levels are the kind benchresters glue on their front rests, available from www.sinclairintl.com
