Any recommandations on this type of scope? I am looking for a simple scope to mount on my A2 and was wondering if these were any good. I know Colt made (makes?) them, as well as Leapers. Any recommandations on where to get one? Thanks, Chris |

Stay well away from the Leapers, BSA and any other made-in-China $30 scopes you might find. If you send $600-$1000 (or more) on a rifle then you had better spend a bit of money to get a scope that's going to shoot to the abilities of the weapon and possibly the riflemen behind it. I've heard that the Colt's 4x is good. You might just suck it up and hold out for a Trijicon ACOG which start $600 or so [shock]. If you're just looking for a plinking scope I'd rather see you mount a weaver rail on a B-square carry handle mount ($50) and a hang a $100 Simmons or Tasco scope up there then to go with the bottom of the barrel scope. |

Alright, no PRC junk. (On my AR anyway) I am really looking for a secure scope/scope mount combo. I am looking to use it hunting and in limited competition use. I shoot 4 gun 600yd matches and my previous setup kept coming loose. (A massive 8x24x50 on a 4.5 inch weaver mount) I really dont need the magnification, and saw the Colt scope was what I was looking for. I know the ACOG is the top of the line, but like you said, its $600. And me being a college student doesn't help much. Nice setup, where did you get the scope from? Thanks, Chris |

Actually I have been trying to get some feedback on these scopes from anyone here and have had only two replies, each said they were very impressed with the above mentiond scope. Kind of surprised not more have talked about these scopes, guess everyone here has $800+ to spend on Compact Trijicons. |

cmoscopes.com I sold my old 3x Colt carry handle scope. Bought the Marksman Elite IR for like $350 delivered. The CMO has illuminated reticle and has the same drop compensator as the Colt did. The optics seem way better then the Colt. I look at the CMO as a new generation of the Colt product with better quality. It seems to share alot of the same features and design, so it wouldn't surprise me if the same people made them. I liked the CMO so much I ordered a second one. I wanted one for over a year and there were none to be found. I would suggest you order one soon if you want one. I think it was worth the wait. |

The Hakko Blue ring 4X21 is worth taking a look at. I used the Colt 4X20 with good results but replace it recently with the Hakko after using both side by side. It is slightly longer and heavier but the illuminated reticle makes up for this. http://www.hakko-japan.co.jp/optical/english/mp.htm |
