I built an upper with 20" barrel, KAC FF RAS, KAC low profile gas block and rail mounted front sight, it was gonna be my second SPR clone (the first one has a PRI tube and front sight, and a USO SN3). When it was all done, I think the barrel sticks out so much it looks strange to me, especially when mated to a collapsable stock, I really should have opted for an 18" barrel. I'm not really into precision shooting with an AR anyway, after seeing how it looked I decided to go to a 14.5" barrel with a Vortex instead. I already have an ML2, TA11, TA31 and TA01NSN, which optic would you recommend? I didn't care for the SN4 that much (traded it for the SN3). |

hmm...Is the 14.5 w/Vortex a 1/9 twist? Is it already laid out for a flat-top? The way you mention optics sounds like it is. But if it was just a 1/9 twist 14.5 w/Vortex barrel, then I would put it with a C7 upper, you know the ones with brass deflector and forward assist, but A1 sights. Then I would put a TA47R-2 on top, M4 handguards, mate to a lower with a M4 stock on it. No reason to weigh that combo down with anything. Of course, that is just if you asked for my opinion on it. [;)] |
