Am planning on putting a TA-31 on my AR. Back up will be an ARMS#40, at least that is the plan so far. What info or opinions on mounts? Should I raise the TA-31 up a little or mount it with a TA-51, or maybe an ARMS#10? To many options to be sure. It will be on a 14.5" M4A3. |

I second the ARMS #19S. Same footprint as TA51, a tiny bit higher, and single throw lever with excellent return to zero properties. I routinely remove my scope from my rifle all the time now and it has never once shifted zero as long as I remount it in the same location. The #19S is very solid. The ARMS #10 would be my last choice - a mount much bigger than needed and uses thumbscrews. |

Thanks for the help. I don't really like the looks of the ARMS#19 but function is everything. If it works out well, I'll be happy. Further, Wes Grant told me that the TA51 mount may not allow use of the ARMS#40 for a backup due to its height. Kinda pisses me off about the screw though. I've read the other threads about this and gotta think, WTF? For the price of their scope they should be bending over backwards to make us customers happy. Not the other way around. |
