Just bought one and it didn't come with a manual! Never used one before can anyone give instructions on how to sight it in? Whats up with the small apture(spelling?) being flat on top with the white line and notch?

Anyone know of a link to detailed instructions?

From Bushmaster's web-site:

[red]Its flip-up combines a 250-300m close combat aperture and a 500-600 meter aperture with a horizon line that helps lead distant targets. Windage is adjustable by a knob on the left hand side.[/red]

Sight in is similar to A1 or A2 rear sight w/ the exception that the #40 has no elevation adjustment, so you'll have to adjust elevation if necessary using the front sight post. I have mine set for the Santose 50 yard zero method and it works well for me.

Ya can find this zeroing method here: http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/zeroingmethods.msnw

Thanks Mike!

300 yards will be STRECHING it for me with this sight and a Bushmaster 16" rifle. I have a .308 for long range and this rifle is for close up to mid-range(300 yds for me). I'm itching to buy a M1A!

So I zero with 0-2 ap at 50 yards and I'm still good at 300 yds? Well, what about 500 to 600 yds? There is no elevation on the sight so do you have to hold high at that distance?

Zero with the large apeture at 50 yards.  If you zero at 50 with the small apeture you will be VERY high at 100 yards.  Ask me how I know...
