I have been toying with the idea of getting an oko sight for my a2 bushy m4. My only concern is I would be forced to get a gooseneck mount and would the steel cover still cowitness on a gooseneck mount. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

I have an OKO on my flat-top and love it.  Cavalry Arms sells a carry-handle gooseneck style mount that I believe will allow you to co-witness with your existing iron sights.  I think it costs $80 for the M4 version.

Check it out at the link below.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

I have the OKO w/Cav Arms mount on my Shorty AK carry handle. Co witnesses just fine. Set up is definitely worth the money!

I've been thinking about getting this setup, but I was concerned about brush getting hung-up between the mount and the handguard.  Any problems with this? Also, durability of the OKO sight was a concern for me.  These things tough?  Thanks for any help.

Why would you want to cowitness?

Your irons are always good.  As long as the mount doesn't interfere with using them, you are good to go.

The beauty of a reflex like the OKO is not having to line things up.  If you can see the dot, stick it on target and fire.  Reflex type sights allow the dot to move around in the lens when your head moves, without changing their point of aim/point of impact.

Spending the time to screw around and line up the dot with the irons sights will just get you dead.  I look right over top of my rear sight and use the dot only.  If the dot is dead, I shift slightly lower and use the irons.

Range Warriors love things that make (or make them think) them more accurate.  Having shot many tactical matches on a Marine Corps pop-up range, I can tell you that you dont' have time to screw around with cowitnessing, adjusting your A2 elevation, or anything like that.

God knows how much worse it would be in real combat!
