I'm going to get a Nikon scope with 1" tube to put on my flat top Bushmaster.   It's a 20" A-3, and it's got the full height front sight.

I want to be able to take it off and on, so that I can use the Iron sights that's on the carrying handle also.

Is there any significant advantage to the bases with levers to latch the base to the flat top over the more common nut that you tighten with your fingers?  I wouldn't think they would be any more accurate, but I don't know.

What's a good brand?  I see a Colt flat top scope mount advertised by KY Imports for $59.99.  And, model 1 Sales has one for $65.00, and American Spirit Arms has one for $99.95.

It's harder than heck to look at a picture and make any kind of decision on quality.  Anybody have any experience with any of these?  Or would you recommend another brand?

Thanks, WoodenFrog~~~~

p.s.  Another question.  Does the scope have to be mounted above the front sight?  If so, how much higher?

Thanks
