Im looking for something to mount on my A2... no red dot, a real optic with low magnification. I want a compact optic as well. What is recomended for the limitations of the A2? I know about the optic being mounted so high, but I really dont see whats the big deal. If im sighted in at 200 yards and a .223 rises three inches... then ill get a hit at closer and a little farther away. Whats recomended in A2 upper optics?? Thanks |

You just told yourself to buy a Trijicon compact ACOG. Go to www.swfa.com for pricing and tech info. Compact ACOG are made for the carrying handle and it works like a champ on top of it. Especially with the BAC, it can act as a CQB red dot and a 3x optic for shooting out pass 300m. Expensive, but it is the end all and be all scope for your requirement. |

A forward mounted dot is the way to go, but if you really want magnification get the compact ACOG is the best option. It is still not ideal. With the 3x you might have to drill another hold in the carry handle to get adequate eye relief, and I found cheek weld to be a problem. Others do not. Even with the compact ACOGs, you end up 3.5"+ over the bore. Great little scopes, but even they work better on a flat top. |
