I got my TAO1NSN today, and when it got dark I noiced that you can stalk around the house with only a little light and the lit crosshairs will work like the BAC optics. I haven't used those ones, but I think I know how it works. Now I have to get ACOG number two

With the pending war with Iraq, I'm sure price's will start (if not already) to rise on NSN's, and the dealer stock will dissappear with long back orders.  I'm curious what you paid?

$735 shipped from CMMG. He got them from DPMS. The back order on these is supposed to be like 8-10 months.

Yeah, all it takes for BAC top work is an illuminated reticle. So you got the idea perfect. Just imagine being able to work with your scope like you did day or night!

For some reason I thought you were talking about Blood Alcohol Content, lol

Some day I'm going to bring a SIR, a camera and screwdriver to the monkey cage at the zoo, and surprise Neil... :)

my NSN ACOG is lit but the lighting is pretty dim for BAC aiming I think it is really designed for night vision use.

Please excuse the newbie question but what does BAC stand for?

BAC = Bindon Aiming Concept, named after a Mr. Bindon.

Read new-arguy's post about it on page 2 of this thread for an excellent description of how it works.

Yeah, the pale yellow of the NSN's tritium is not designed to be used as BAC. It just so happens that it will offer this effect when in the dark.

I've been playing around with it after dark, and I think its going to be a good twilight scope. I want to look into the Docter Optic mount for the rear of the ACOG now.

Me too.

CJ, I hope you're not running around the house half naked with that thing loaded; are you?
