There has been alot of neat pictures of full size ACOGs. Does any one have pictures of their Compact ACOG/mount setups?  Esp. for flat-tops.

Bad angle, but it's mounted on an ARMS #5 on top of a RRA M4 flattop, coupled to an Oly Preban forged lower.

Shivan - Which compact ACOG is on there ??

Any comments in comparing it to a TA-31 or TA-11 series ??

I believe it's a TA50-6.  Amber dot, 3x magnification.  There is no marking on it, and I got it in a trade so I am just guessing at the model.

I like the compact size, I have no data by which to compare other ACOG's to it.  Only one I have ever fired is this one.

F4YR, hahahaha I cant believe your sig line!!! Thats great. Someone just reminded me about the Clash and that song the other day!

Here's a pic of a TA50-4 on top. Below it is a TA31, below that is a TAO1nsn. The TA11 is much larger than any of those. Comp ACOGs are great. The one in the picture isnt mine, but I really want to get one.

new arguy,

what's your formal opinion of the reflex sight?
2/2/2003 8:50:44 PM EDT
[#10]
My formal opinion is that I am way to informal to be giving out formal opinions. And I'm serious about that!

However, I know I am going to get slammed for this, but so be it. The Reflex is my second favorite non-magnified dot optic. My first being the Aimpoint. I, myself, PERSONALLY, like the Reflex better than the EoTech. I just never really liked the EoTech.

All things have ups and down, advantages and disadvantages. Everything to me is about which advantages will I be able to maximize, and which disadvantages I can minimize. To me, the two BIG disadvantages of the Reflex is its propensity to wash out in some lighting conditions, and the blue hue to the wondow. I hate both of these things. I really, really do. However, I can live with them and work around them in most cases if need be.

Things about the EoTech I dont like I am stuck with. Crappy mounts, poor battery life, awkward (to me anyway) controls, and a grainey (to me anyway) reticle. I cant do anything about any of these things.

However, having said that, for a general purpose optic, I'll take the Aimpoint over either, and the TA31 over all! [:P]
