I currently have an ARMS #18 mount & Leupold rings mounting a scope on my M1A, I am looking to install some kind of quick release system so I can remove & replace the scope without loss of zero. I like the ARMS #18 mount & Intend to leave it in place.
Can I use the ARMS #22 Steel Throw Lever Rings  alone?
Or do I have to use the ARMS #19 Universal Throw Lever Mount with their #21L Steel Stanag Rings?
What is the better system? What does the US Military use on their M14s?

Since you already have the #18, the cheapest way would be to use #22 rings.

I use the ARMS #22 with my M1A. I have not had any problems with it so far. Same setup as you, except I have the Smith mount.

I am mounting a Leupold Tactical 4.5to14 X50, Should I use the Low, Med or high rings?

garr, check with ARMS as they are generally good at helping you to get the right product.  I used the #22 high rings for my LRT 50 and they are higher than need be.  I know you can use the medium rings, but am not sure if you can use the low with the large objective.
