After cleaning your magazines do you lightly oil the springs? Or assemble them dry?

Lubing a magazine, using oil, etc., is not necessary.
The lubricant actually attracts foreign debris.

But, when I use 30-40 + year old 20 round GI magazines,
I prefer to use a dry lube on them, when necessary.

Remington Dri Lube.

Lube does not attract anything.  It can hold certain size particles in suspension.

Going to give Remington dri lube a try, I just acquired some Vietnam era 20 round GI magazines and wanted to give them a good cleaning before taking them to the range

I honesty can say after over 30 years of shooting this platform, both F/A and Semi, I have never cleaned one magazine...

Been shooting AR's weekly for 30 years.  I've never cleaned a magazine.  Never put oil inside the magazine. It should be dry.

I've gotten surplus mags with sand and dirt inside that had to be cleaned.

I push the follower down with a finger and shake the rocks out if something is stuck in there.   I have had some get mud in 'em and I just disassembled and washed in the sink with hot water and dish soap.

I have what some would call surplus mags that I brought home with me when I left the service and any sand in them, I have just shook it out of them, but I don't often even load them these days, most of the time I am using D&H, Pmags or Troy mags.
