I don't want any.

I just wondered if the quality was just as good as the NC ones I have from the ban era.

I was just reading a recent thread on this. You say abysmal. What personal experience do you have to qualify that remark? I ask because it seems that those who have actually owned the magazines (particularly the 30rd US-made) have had the complete opposite experience from what you are discussing. So are you parroting some line or do you have actual knowledge or source that you can substantiate this remark with?

Thermold sent me about a half-dozen flush-fit 10 round magazines when I was on duty in Kuwait.  Half drop-free, the other 3 don't, as I recall.  I've not had any issues w/ them, and if I remember correctly, they didn't charge me anything for the magazines or the shipping.

For flush fitting magazines, I think they & ProMag are about the only 2 choices.  I've been curious about their 30-45 round expandable magazines for some time.

Ive had several throughout the years

The only ones worth anything are the Canadian military ones, and i haven't seen those in awhile

To further expand upon my experience, i never had one that would drop free, feedlips and spines cracked, a few had (im pretty sure) out of spec feed lips, as they would not feed any ammo at all, from 50 to 75 gr. I had a 30 rounder that i had left loaded in my safe, a few months later, i was cleaning the safe out, and it had sprayed out all 30 rounds, plus A few cracked floor plates.

For the record, i have never tried the 10 or 45 rounders, but based upon my experience with the 20's and 30's.... i am not eager to

Hmmm... interesting. I truly believe the Thermolds are a hit or miss magazine.

I recently fired a 30 rd US made one that had been loaded for at least 15 years, without a single problem.

My Thermold 45 / 30 round mags have functioned as designed for decades..... they do not feel as "sturdy" as MagPuls or other modern polymer mags, but as mentioned have given decades service.

I only have about 8 total , so they rarely get used compared to my USGI aluminum.... but again have sat loaded for 15+ years.

I will add that the current ones feel very "cheap".

Bottom line is.... I would much rather buy from a company that has a more reputable quality control system.

All of mine are Pre 1994 mags. They still work great.

Quality on the H21 and H22 Thermolds was pretty damn good.... better than a lot of contemporaries. Still have a dozen, work great (although I HAVE changed springs -expected given longevity).

Actually, its the other way around..... the Canuck mags were called "thermelts" due to the Canadians using a different polymer for the maga than what spec called for. Gave them ALL a black eye because Canucks wanted to save a couple bucks....

The Canadian ones i had were the only ones worth a damn.

Sold them during a panic and bought magpul.

Thats really the only reason to buy pro mag and thermold
