So I just ordered a 60rnd mag, I have read/seen some mixed reviews, but none seem to be recent, anyone know if these are better now then when they first came out?

I own one. I had problems with it and sent it in, it came back in just before I took another trip overseas and I only got to shoot it once, but the problems were worse. Out of 60 rounds I had 8 doublefeeds. I reloaded it and had about the same. I will call them about it when I get home and send it in again, but my faith in their magazines, even from just one, is pretty low now. They swear that problems are rare, but I can't find anywhere near he number of people complaining about pmags failing online that I can about surefire, and there are a lot more pmag owners out there. I

I hope yours arrives and works flawlessly and I hope they can get mine working to GI mag level reliability also.

This is no bueno for me

as I got two of em and they cost me ALOT

I paid msrp and shipping for em....    I saw people paying $200 for em on gunbroker

so I am sad to hear this

Haven't had a chance to use them yet, so I will just keep my finger crossed

Both of my early 60's functioned flawlessly - tested both semi-auto and full-auto

I picked up a 3rd last month and it ran perfect for 60 rounds semi-auto.

I've only use XM193 in the mags -I've heard some the heavy 5.56mm loads (68 - 77gr.) MAY have OAL issues

I have 2 from Botach that loaded fine, but have been sitting and waiting for a few months now :-$ for me to get time between jobs to test them out. I am planning to run them in all our ARs this weekend if at all possible,  and will post results here when I do.

If anyone has any updated information on if Surefire has changed the design of the internal springs, etc. I'd like to hear about it as I am interested in purchasing a few of these my self.

I hope mine is not the norm. When I first got it, it ran great. Anything I put in it. But then the first floor plate started binding with the second one while I was loading it and I started getting issues. I also had issues leaving it filled. However before that I got at least 200 full to empty runs out of it without a problem.

Send them back. Quantico Tactical had them for 99 bucks this weekend.  Not sure if they are in stock still.

mine is a total piece of shit. The follower gets stuck then I can basically just pour out every dam round like it was a salt shaker. What kind of crap do I have to go through to get this fixed....and is worth the hassle?

If it works correctly, would not the X-15 fifty round  be a better alternative?  Other than cost I mean, but it's barely more expensive than two of the not-so-surefire magazines ........

I've got my eye on the X-15 drum as well. Supposedly you can load them and keep them loaded for extended periods of time. They are NOT billet anymore as the company tried to cut down the cost of production (and still keep the price the same?).

Hmm, for the same price, if they've gone plastic, I may not bite.

From what a rep told me it was more of a formed or molded metal for the drum instead of billet. It cut the cost of production down as we all know billet anything is expensive. Personally, if its forged formed then cut out that's just as good as billet. If the price was $150 I'd buy these all day long. May just pick up a few anyway before the winter as Bloomberg opened his big mouth and said that universal background checks and magazine capacity limits would be rammed down our throats before the year is up.... They keep on pushing...

I have 2 surefire 60 round mags and I have never gotten either one of them to run the whole mag without a failure to feed of some type. I put them up and forgot about them until I saw this thread. I got the mags when they 1st came out. I just emailed surefire so we will see what happens.

Here is what my gunsmith said to do.

You should be running an extra power recoil spring ( JP Enterprise) and feed ramps should be emmaculatley deburred and polished. your follower may also be hanging up. Usually from one of the spot welds along the seem protruding into the magazine body. Take it apart and inspect the inside of the mag body

Just send them back to Surefire - they will make it right.
