How do you store metal Colt, etc 20 and 30 rd magazines for the long term?
Thanks |
| I don't have a lot of ammo cans, so I store my mags in file storage boxes. The ones I have come new as flat stock with bend creases. They are heavy corrugated material. I have to fold/assemble them into shape. They have slits on each end for carrying/handling, and they have a foldable lid. |

There are several methods I use. The first is loose on a shelf or in a drawer. The second is stuck in a rifle somewhere. The third is in several of the larger Ammo Cans. I believe these are called the “saw” cans. Each can holds thirty (30) 30-round magazines which I have loaded to 28 capacity. The fourth is in a Pelican 1200 case. Each case holds ten (10) 30-round magazines each loaded with 30 62gr. SS109 rounds. These I carry in the Crown Vic and the trucks. They're a perfect fit for AR mags. |
