Hey all,
I'm trying to remove and replace the rubber pull tab from the bottom of my magazine and the instructions are to depress and remove side tabs, and I'm still having a very difficult time doing this. Anyone have any tips on how to do this? Did you use any tools to aid in removing the base plate? I'm almost at the point of cutting off the rubber pull tab...... Thanks! |

Thanks for the response Joe. I followed the guy's instructions and just ended up scratching the goddam tabs. I think the issue is I cannot get the rubber pull tab to depress. It just bends over....But I don't know. I ended up just saying f*** it and cut the damn thing off. I fired the mag fully loaded once and it worked flawlessly, but b/c my handy-man skills are below this simple procedure, I will never buy a Troy BattleMag again, and stick with Pmags. Besides I like the rougher texture the Pmags have, despite the badass look of the Troy mags with their fishscales.
Pmags making reliable products easy enough to install and figure out for us dumbasses. Thanks Magpul! |

To me, this is the one drawback of the Troy mags. The floor plates are a bitch to get off. I have done it to change to the flat flooplate, but it is tricky and you need to point the base towards a corner or something because the spring will come shooting out once it is freed up.
I think if Troy changed this feature they could sell more mags. |
