Of all these posts, I don't see any about Okay ind. mags. Are they good or no good? I picked up 5 at a gun show for $6.80 ea. because someone told me they were Gov. issue.

USGI and good to go if they are not beat to death.
Make sure they have the improved no tilt followers though. Early USGI mags had the old style followers which were abysmal. 2 minutes and about $0.38 to change them out. They will be pre-ban too if that matters to you. |

Prob big reason it's not mentioned much is b/c it's a preban mag. But I've owned a few OKAY's for a long time; bought used during the early AWB. They've always worked flawlessly in any of 5 dif brand lowers I own. A year ago I upgraded the follower & springs to newer anti-tilts & CS springs, and feel even better since. As long as they aren't beat up, feedlips are good, and the mag bodies don't flinch at the weld seams, they are GTG at that price, and even worth doing a follower & spring upgrade. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Uh, not necessarily. Okay continuously made magazines through the AWB and continues to make them for the USG. I have a bunch that were made in 2008. Okay and NHMTG are made in the same plant. My observations have been that Okays are the "brand" sold to the USG while NHMTG are sold to civilians through places like Palmetto State Armory, et. al. You can find Okays, but it always seems to be from guys at gun shows or the like. Okays/NHMTG are EXCELLENT magazines. |

Prob big reason it's not mentioned much is b/c it's a preban mag. Okay mags are arguably some of the better USGI mags. There are preban and current production ones out there. Okay Industries is still very much in business. Okay/NHMTG/Colt are going to all have the same 33710 CAGE code stamped on them. |

Excellent mags, probably the best USGI. I try to pick them up at gun shows used whenever I can if I find a good price on them and they are in nice shape. I usually replace with Magpul folllowers, though it's not necessary.
I passed on some recently, the guy wanted $10 a piece for them and they were FAH-HAMMERED. Bent feed lips, warped floor plates from being dropped, etc.

Dick Well, Okay mags are not just Okay, they're great. I've had a great experience mainly with Colt mags for 27 years now and as stated by other members here they're only made by Okay Industries. Dang great price on your mags, wish I could find some with that low price. As always test your mags before trusting them. |

All Okay's are GTG with any follower they came with. Add the Magpul follower if you like (I have a a bunch). As stated same as Colt & NHMTG. You did good- except for not getting more! ![]() This. I have a shitload of them. However, I paid $12.00 USD when I got mine. ED |
