What is the opinion on H&K mags?  These are mil-surp?  What  are they worth? I am not selling just keeping track of cost savings for our dealings with DRMS.

They are heavy, but have super smooth chrome followers. The HK mags are also expensive, worth about $50. They work well, however most seem to prefer the Magpul P-mags right now.

Heavy, last about 1k rounds before they begin to go downhill and offer ZERO advantages over a basic USGI magazine.  Blown out of the water by Pmags or Lancers.  We had an entire case of these downrange that NO ONE used.

Improper heat treating on the feed lips and springs that go to crap in short order. PLUS they use a non standard spring and HK will not sell you replacement springs

My opinion of HK mags is really simple

Waste of money

I STILL like mine. I still buy them. But I'm paying about $23-$25 per mag (NIW)(shipped) now. Never paid $70 each when they first came out. And I refuse to pay the $40 going price now. No real advatage over the USGI or Magpul, but they ARE silky smooth. And when any mag craps out, replace it. I've YET to have any of my HK mags even begin to show signs of crapping out. There is a member here named LCPL4EVER that wrote a page on what aftermarket springs to use IF the HK springs go bad. But I've yet to have any of mine go bad, and I've had mine for years. This is Just my observation with MY equipment with MY usage.

Pmags are great, but in MY equipment they don't fall free empty or loaded. But the HK's and USGI's do.

We just got about 50 free through DRMS (LE agency). Plan on using them as range mags so the guys don't have to download their duty ammo everytime we qual. We now shoot Frangible Green ammo for quals.

That's fantastic!!! Use them until they no longer become serviceable, if your trigger finger lasts that long.

I have two dozen of them that I use a lot when I am using a 30 round mag.  I've yet to have any trouble from any of them and several have gone well beyond the so called 1K life span several times over.
HK has had problem with springs, especially in the USP mags, but I've yet to hit any bad USP/C springs either.  Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket?

I also have a '94 HK USPf and a '06ish USPc and about 2 dozen mags between them. NO issues ever with any of them.

Not issues here either, several thousands rounds through a HK mags and no complaints. only mag related problems of mine are the older green follower usgi mags.
