It certainly could be done for the AR platform, but there is no practical reason. The 25rd mags were for the F1. They don't have the mag catch slot cut in the side and "rock in" like M14 or AK mags. http://www.retroblackrifle.com/ under the "Magazine" section has a pic of an original Armalite 25rd mag.
