| Like the title says, is there one mag loader that is better than another that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? |
whatever came with my MWG 90 round drum works great when everything is loaded with stripper clips, haven't tried it with loose ammo and the plastic plug for loading loose ammo........I often default back to the mag loaders located on each hand ...I will admit when loading my glock it can get painful without the factory loader.

+1 LULA
I've been using mine for more than five years now and it works pretty good, it could also be used to unload the mags, just point the bullet tips towards the ground and move the lever. It works on all my USGI type, PMAG, Lancer L5 translucent, C Products, and HK mags. |

I have a StripLULA loader...either put a stripper clip of 10 rds in or you can single load them. Then zip...into the mag, works pretty nice.

I have used my lula for so long that it started acting wierd, The cam arm on one side slides off to the inside of the cartridge and it doesn't go down far enough to have clearance for the next round to be slid in, with a little force it will go in though.
The best loader I have found is the 5 rd loose plunger style loader. Way better than the stripper clip version. The magnets will come out sometimes and you'll load them in the mag, the plastic on the plunger guides will crack and eventually break off then the plunger snaps, or the stopper for the actual stripper clip breaks off and the stripper clips jams down into the back opening in the magazine. you can find the 5 rd peronsal loader for 10-15 bucks and I have yet to break or wear one out. |
| Guys, not to disparage anyone here, as I have never used a Maglula of any kind, but I watched the video they have posted on their site and it does not seem like it is any faster than loading by hand. Granted, I don't shoot thousands and thousand of rounds, but I am genuinely curious what the advantage is to this device. You still have to load the rounds one at a time. I personally have no issues loading them by hand, but I also have no trouble loading my Glock .40 and .45 mags by hand at all. Again, all I have to go on is watching the videos on the wwwinterweb, but I sure don't seem to see any time savings. Please enlighten me. |

The stress on your fingers is nil and it is easy enough that my (then 3 year old) daughter could load mags. It is not faster by a huge margin, but it keeps my hands from hurting like heck after loading 10+ mags. My usual range trip is at least 10-12 mags and possibly more. The StripLULA works well and is pretty compact and eat to store. At SHOT I met one of the designers @ MagLULA while working the corner of the TacSol booth where BDM was set up and he said he was interested in making one for BDM/ciener/ar15 .22 mags. nutnfancy actually has him mentioning the same thing on camera. The UpLULA is a godsend. Especially with G18 mags. One or two mags at a time is easy enough to load by hand, but after the 5th or 6th one my hands are in a world of hurt. |

Even the IDF issued mag loaders for the troops with Uzis. It wasn't because they were afraid that the troops were going to mess up their manicures or get a sore thumb. BSW |
