A friend told me that the PMAGS being made today are made so that the "cover slip" can be attached to the bottom of the mag when it is removed so as to make it easier to keep up with.  Is this true?  Are "all" those being made now like that?  How can you be sure of which variety you are buying?  thanks

The last few I bought you definitely could. But I buy the ranger plates for them anyway so it doesn't really matter much.

The "Revision M" mags are the newest Pmags out.  The dust cover clips to the bottom of the mag.  The previous version had the dust covers but they did not attach to the bottom.

That's the "M"-revision. THe dust cover can snap on the baseplate.

It appears all 30rd Pmags (window + non-window x 4 colors)  are being made in the "M" revision.

(20-rounders force you to keep track of those pesky dust covers )

Most retailers have probably blown out their older inventory by now, but some might still be sitting on older stock built up during the panic. Buy from Arfcom vendors that specify what you're getting - like DSGArms or Palmetto- or email them beforehand to verify which version they're selling.

The pic shows the visual differences, the window version has a larger window compared to the old ones.

So are there any 20 round Pmags being made that will hold the dust cover on the base plate? or is it  30 rounders only?

30 only.

Do you know if there are any plans to incorporate this feature into the 20 round mags?

IIRC, the last time it was asked the answer was "no".

Why does it even matter?

Just seems like a superior design in that it makes it easier to keep up with the covers.

I keep track of mine by throwing them in the junk box. They're not needed, and storing the covers on the butt, neat idea and all that, is an answer in search of a question.
