Right now I have 4 Pmags and my shooting buddy has several of them as well
I use a duct tape sticker to Identify mine and also what the load is.
Is there a preferred or better way of marking them  and will the duct tape adhesive harm the mags?

I use electrical tape for all my marking, it comes off cleanly if necessary.

Different color paint pens.
Pick a gap in the bottom of the mag and put a large dot in it in identical locations.
Different colors = different types of rounds/loads

I spray paint the bottom third of all my mags and then add identifiers-there is no way some one is going to get them confeused

On tan Pmags I use a black sharpie, on black Pmags and aluminum GI mags, I use a silver sharpie. if I need to, it will come off with a little drop of acetone on a rag.

I have orange PMags and nobody I shoot with has that color so I'm safe...I also have some orange Thermolds I use just in case they made anymore orange PMags.  Other than that I don't mark any of my mags since I usually shoot alone or I'm shooting things nobody else has the mags for and they just use mine.

I mark all of mine with electrical tape to designate what ammo goes in them. Orange for tracer, red or VMAX, Gold for SMK, White for M193, ect.

From another thread way back in time....

Quoted:
I throw mine in the bath tub and piss all over them.  Then they are easily recognised by my scent.
