I read on this and other forums how many people have cases of one brand of magazines. I have quite a few of each major brand (except 1), type and size of magazine in view of unknown future bans or law changes.
Pmags are my favorite, but I also have aluminum GI magazines and Lancers. What if one brand becomes brittle or unreliable over time? I also have several of each brand/type in case one becomes damaged. I can use the parts to keep the others going. I have supplies of 20rd mags in case the 30rd become illegal. I actually prefer the 20rd because of it's more compact and easier to use at the bench. I like to try the different brands and new designs. Magazines are pretty cheap compared to other AR parts, so I can buy them more often. Anyone else? |

USGI mags work fine. I have 1 PMAG and 1 Lancer. I guess I don't get the point of having a whole bunch
of different types of mags. My take on it is to just find what works for you and buy a bunch of them. I use the same philosophy with Glock mags, heck any mags. Why buy all the different manufactures of mags for a G-19 when the originals work so well? If PMAGS are the best for you, just buy them and forget the rest. I like the USGI mags, 20 rounders in particular so those are what I buy. Plus the old USGI's have been around a while and I know they work in every AR I've ever used them in. If you like to collect mags, more power to ya! I've got a friend that does too and I have to admit that it is cool seeing all those different mags in his safe. |
