Sorry if this horse has been beat in the past but if so I couldn't find it.  Are these mags good? Are they mil spec?  I am a PMAG fan but are these a viable option also?

Brownells mags are good mags, and they have a military contract.

Brownell's mags are good to go for the most part.

I have found a few over sized on the floorplate end causing the floorplate to be sloppy when installed and leaving gaps on the side of them.

Did you send them back or just use them? A month ago, I ordered five 20 round and five 30 round Brownell's mags and all five of the 30 round mags were large on the bottom. Two weren't too bad, two were really sloppy and the last one was so sloppy that one of the tabs doesn't overlap the floorplate if I push the floorplate all the way over to one side. The welded seams aren't even from top to bottom which is why the mags are wider at the bottom. I measured the width and off the top of my head the worst Brownell's mag was .925" measured at the tabs and all were over .900". My non-Brownell's mags all measured .888" - .892" measured at the same point. All of the 20 round mags look good, though.

No, I did not send them back. All functioned fine and were drop free. Sound like a couple of your were really bad. Below is an example of what I have with a Okay mag as a reference mag of what it should be.

I sent a couple back  a good while back that were a little worse than that one with a note why. Guess they do not consider it a problem.

I don't even bother replacing the followers...

CProducts bodies with CProducts followers work fine.
