So i've got a load of USGI magazines here, no marking on the outside.  But inside of the magwell body near the  baseplate says, "K12" and below it "98" and across from it on the other code "012" and below it "98"

Others say "k10", "k11", "k3"-"87" these are all on the inside of the mag well again.  Anyone know what these codes mean?

Date stamps.

K represents the month number and the number below it i.e. 87 is the year.

Oh, that makes sense.  What manufacturers used this method of code?
