Is it legal to send pre-ban 30 Round magazines from a no AWB state to NY state?

As I understand it.. NY State does not allow any "hi cap" mags - or any mags above 10 rounds. Same with CA and MA. Any state that does not allow civilians to own hi caps would include having a buddy ship a hi cap into the state.

Can't speak with any authority on NY, though I was under the impression that "pre-ban" date stamped mags were legal to sell to NY.

For CA however, I can shed some more light. Possession is legal of standard capacity mags, as is possession of "post ban" date stamped mags. As long as you owned the mag before 2000 (when the CA mag ban went into effect), it's legal to own, possess and use them, as well as to repair them - even if you replace every original part in the mag. It's legal to sell magazine repair parts (including full kits) to Californians, so long as they aren't assembled and are only used for repairing pre-owned mags.

Rubline1, Have you had preban hi-cap mags sent to you from out of state? Do they have to have a date stamp?

Thanks all for the input.
