I'm looking to stock up on a bunch of high-cap 6.8 SPC mags, just wondering if I should order them from PRI or Barrett. I've read about some PRI mags having failure to feed issues, and the Barrett holds 5 more rounds than the PRI. Is there any reason I should be avoiding the Barrett steel body/steel follower 30 round magazines? Also are there any other good quality magazines I should be looking at? Thanks in advance.

C Products makes a stainless steel 6.8 magazine. 5, 10, 17 and 25 round capacity. These are recognized as the best in the market. Visit us at:

i've seen everyone here say some bad about all the 6.8 mag makers.  I personally have nothing but C Products because they work just fine for me and if they crap out Larry will take care of you.  Plus, they are half half the price of the PRI mags.

I just looked at the C Products website. You're right about the pricing, the PRI mags are $43.00 each which is pretty steep considering I want 20 of them. I'm going to order a few from C Products to see how they fit and feed, can you tell me why people prefer the stainless steel springs over the stock chrome silicone springs?

The cs springs have a slight surface rust and OCD people like myself hate rust!

Good enough, I want a magazine that I can seal up in a bag for future use and not worry about corrosion.

Question for Larry: price on the 10 and 17 round mags? I need shorter mags for my SPR and I can't find any pricing for these on your website.

Click on 6.8 straight stainless steel magazines. It will give you the 5, 10 and 17 round pricing.

I did click on that, what threw me off was the top product on that page. It says 6.8 "Grendel" so I assumed I was looking at a page for 6.5 magazines and that was just a typo. I found the correct page for the magazine that I need and I noticed at the bottom it says "Option: 20 round product code 292-3 $21.95 *NOTE actual 20 round body [16 round capacity]", does that mean you're using a standard straight 20-round 5.56 magazine body with a 6.8 follower and spring? I want to make sure I'm ordering the right magazines. Also, do you offer stainless springs for the smaller mags? Thanks.

No, we use a 6.8 body that is the same length as the standard .223. When you get them you will notice that the ribs and follower are different than the .223. I would never recommend anyone loading a .223 with 6.8 ammo.

I would get PRI first; but regardless test them with 500+ rounds before you bag and forget them.

I appreciate the advice, I always check the fit and function of everything before it gets cleaned, lubed, sealed and stored. As far as PRI mags go, the C Products magazines are half the price so I'll be trying those out first. Everything I've been hearing about C Products has been positive, I'd rather save some money and buy more ammo for some wintertime plinking.

Define the function testing part; then we can talk. IM; if needed.

Well,
I'm going to bit the bullet so to speak...and go with Cproducts.  His posts above about taking care of any issues sold me...........besides I've got a dozen of his .223/5.56 mags which have seen lots of use and have had 0 issues.

On a side note.  Twice while I've been shooting with friends and their guns malfuction, I hand them one of my mags....clears the problem right up.
