| I know that you can put 6 or 7 30 rounders in a SAW pouch and I was wondering if anyone has discovered any other pouches which would serve the purpose of a grab and go bag for AR mags and could either be slung around the neck or attached to a belt. I'm not looking for hard shelled containers. |

I have two Ace Case Mag Pouches loaded and ready to go. They hold 12 mags pretty tightly, but securely - and at $15, they're very affordable: www.acecase.com/Magazine-Pouch-6-Pack-p-16394.html |
I bought one of these from ACE Case about a year ago and it is the perfect Mag grab bag. Most bags this size only hold 6 mags, this one holds 12. It has velcro flaps to secure the mags or you can tuck the flaps in so the mags are exposed for speed. Also it's built very well and the price is unbeleivable. I highly recommend this bag. |
I have never seen these before....this fits the bill very nicely. Will pick up a couple for my AKs. |

For all of my grab-and-go needs, I tend to prefer the good old USGI LBE set-up. The two mag pouches hold 3 mags each for a total of 180 rds. ready-to-go. Sportsman's Guide has the whole rig (2 mag pouches, y-straps, pistol belt, canteen w/cover, and fanny-pack for less than $30. - Hetzer |

If you're not dead-set on a bag, I believe the Eagle SKD Universal chest rig works nicely. Carries 8 30-rounders plus 4 double-column pistol mags as it comes. I added an additional Eagle 2 mag pouch and an ESS Mini-med pouch with a blow-out kit to the available MOLLE attachment points. Easy on, easy off. Easy to adjust if you change from wearing body armor, coats, etc. Doesn't require a belt to secure it around your middle section. It's a self-contained unit. Link to rig at SKD Tactical. Good luck, Scott |
i just ordered one...thanks for the info.. |
you and your friend will be very happy with it, it's one of the best things I have ever bought. I use it as a mag range bag but it's perfect if you ever needed to grab a bunch of mags in a hurry. |
| I don't remember who it was that posted it. but there was a guy that posted a picture of a pelican 1200 I think, with 12 30rd mags. I liked the idea of hard case, water proof and that doesn't have to look tactical is a good idea. you can keep it in the trunk or ready to grab |
