Here's a couple pics.  They are old, like several years old and taken during the ban when AR mags were 25 bucks a pop for USGI.  The the other pic has some AK mags and drums, FAL mags and some AR mags.  My mags have multiplied like rabbits since these photo's were taken about 2001 or so.

One day when I'm bored, I'll have to make a mega picture with all the mags I own.  Probably stupid to have 'em but oh well.

I was reading an article in one of the NRA magazines (forgot the month) but it stated that it’s not always good to have the magazines filled to capacity due to the springs being tense all the time. I have a few 20 round magazines that I use for home protection but I only keep the magazines half full and I alternate the magazines every few weeks or so to keep the springs active.

Anyone else hear about this or know if it’s bad for the magazines to be filled to capacity and left in the closet or desk for a long period of time?

Also nice pics....

Thanks,
Joe….

I believe that with a high-enough quality spring, the only thing that will wear it out is the actual repeated compressions and decompressions that come with normal magazine use.

This gets hashed out very often here.  Keeping the mag loaded doesn't hurt it.  The repeated compression/expansion of the spring is the wear point, not constant compression of the loaded mag.

I won't even bother playing as I know my stash is pretty lame by ARFCOM standards so consider this more of an old school tag
