Which AR rail would you use if given the choice of Surefire M73 or YHM rail ?

Any feedback, positive or negative on either is welcomed.

I'm completely satisfied with my YHM 2-piece unit.  And, it's cheaper.

Off  the top of my head...

I have had the Surefire and currently use the YHM.

YHM Pros:

Affordability.
Level Gap between receiver rail and Acc Rail.
Appearance.
Ease of installation.
No locking pieces which might shoot loose during use.

YHM Cons:
While it is solid enough, it is not "Rock Solid".  There is minimal side to side play. When I pull on my VFG, the entire lower portion pushes against the delta ring assembly and moves slightly rearward or forward if I push.  The same goes for the top although one would not be pushing and pulling on an optic mounted on the top rail.

Tango Down VFG is a tight SOB to get on some of my YHM rails.  The set on my 20" requires the use of a rubber hammer and my wife to install the VFG...  If the wife is an optional tool, the affordability of these rail units is blown out of the water!

No T-marking of rails.

Surefure Pros:
Locks up solid.  No forward/rearward movement possible due to the dual tension set screws.

Both the Knights VFG & TD VFG I've used slide on/off easily.

T marking on rails.

Surefire Cons:

Stepped gap between the upper receiver rail and the ACC rail.  One can not slide an accessory directly from the receiver rails to the acc rails.  Nor can one position an acc partially on the upper reciever rails as well as partially on the acc rails.

The tensioning set screws push on one half and pull on the other half.  I can't remember which goes back and which forward.  This puts the delta ring at an extreme angle.  Looks odd and is noticeable by even those who are not heavily into the BRD. (mostly cosmetic)

Set screws must be lock tighted to ensure they do not shoot loose.  This is an area requiring constant attention/checking.

Pricier than YHM

In closing I offer that you might want to post this in the proper forum:  Rail & Acc Discussion (ETA: For better response)
