I know "This thread sucks without pictures!" If someone will be so kind to post a pic for me I can elaborate a little more. I have not yet figured the picture hosting thing, I can email the pics to someone if they will post.

A friend of mine gave me some 30rd magazines the other day because they wont fit his Wilson Combat , They do fit my Colt and LMT fine, I haven't tried them in my Bushmaster yet.

They look to be black teflon coated and aluminum, black followers, I believe aluminum, the floorplates are marked Colt AR-15. No logo's, address, dates or any other info on the mags. The seem a little cheesy, the feedlips look gnarled and uneven, you can also see some weld spots and some minor rust on the seams. I tried to upgrade the followers and couldn't remove the floorplates, they just bent up. They seem kinda cheesy to me, but they were free. I haven't shot them or even loaded them up yet so I cant give a range report or dependability.

I am wondering if these a find or a flop? Thanks alot

P.S. I did do some searching on the site and haven't found picures or info in links o be able to identify these.

If it rusts, and has a black follower, it's probably an aftermarket mag (tier 3). I would do the ruler function check, or load-it-and-shoot-it. If it fails, trash it; if it works, use it. Definitly look into USGI mags, you will always know it will work.

Yes I believe it is probably tier 3 mag, I wouldn't use it over my HK SA-80's or my USGI's, I am kind of wondering if it a very early mag though and may have some value potential
