Bushmaster DOES NOT make magazines. D&H/Labelle makes magazines for Bushmaster and they add a propriaitary floor plate. D&H/Labelle DOES NOT make a 40 round mag, nor does any other USGI contractor. The 40 round magazine that my dealer was getting from Bushmaster were made by Triple K. Which in English loosely translates to "wast of time and material". As a rule of thumb avoid all aftermarket steel magazines, especially 40 rounders. The Sterling AR180/AR15 40 round magazines work well, but are expensive, cumbersome and not nearly as reliable as 30's. I bought two 40 roung magazines from Cheaper than Dirt and they function well. They are parkerized steel mags with green followers. They look and feel identical to the steel English SA80 STANAG 30 rounders, except they are longer. I haven't seen these for sale for about a year. These were likely made in the mid to 80's when the DOD was contimplating improvements for the M16A1 before they decided to adopt the A2. These are probably the only "mil spec" 40 rounder out there. They work okay but hiccup sometimes, compared to never with a USGI 30. Of the two, I beat the hell out of one teaching myself how to rebuild magazines and stuffed its guts into a 30 round body out of boredom. The other rests at the bottom of my pouch full of "range mags" where it will likely be until the end of time. Save your skinds and sitck with USGI 30s...if you need more than 30 rounds, get a Cmag. |

I figured that it was probably not made by "Labelle" type manufacturers..But I thought that I would try to find out for sure..i think they were asking around 24.00 for them.. Always looking to try out something different if it was good.. Thanks all for the replys.. |
