A guy from 173rd ABN Bde back from Iraq gave me a Center Industries mag today. On a side is stamped:

"Restricted law enforcement/government use only"
Or BATF approved equivalent 04/02

what does BATF mean? is 04/02 the date of manufacture?

BATF = Bureau of Alcohol Tabacco and Firearms, which is a US govt agency.

Basically it only had meaning during the assault weapons ban, here in the US from 1994 until Sept of this year.

It's a meaningless label now.

And yes, it was manufactured in April of '02.
