I want to try building some 9MM mags for my AR.  What would be the best mag body to use as the foundation?  I plan to mill some mag followers from aluminum and get some decent springfs from someone like Wolff.

Why not just use UZI mags and mill the extra hole for the catch?  Or buy them already done from Adco.

I bought two converted mags and they work with "some" ammo plus they don't lock the bolt back on the last round.  Adco is out also.  Any other source.  The mags I have are 25 round mags.  I'd like to try one of the 32 round converted mags.

The only mags that will perform last-round-bolt-hold-open are factory Colt mags, which are based on the Uzi mags, but with a channel in the rear to allow room for a hold-open tab on the mag follower.

Or Uzi mags that have been modified to have a spring steel tab on the back of the follower.  Joe Black does this conversion, his webpage is www.m60joe.com.
