I just acquired some Blued SA-80 British mags NIW and they are great.  I feel kind of guilty but I like them a whole heck of a lot better than my Labelle Teflons.  The steel makes the mags feel real sturdy.Excellent Quality

I feel the exact same way. I don't see myself ever buying another aluminum mag. Other than a tiny bit of weight, I can't see any down side to these mags.

I live in Mississippi near the coast, (80%+/- average humidity).

I've found a little surface rust on a couple of my grey parked Brit mags at the seam on the spine of the mag.

They're just like anything else that's made of steel. Just dry them off if they get wet and maybe put on a light coat of oil.

Do you guys think we should tack a SA80 mag discussion to the top? It seems they come up every week or so

I've got 14 of the blued Imperial Defence SA-80 mags from CMMG.  I put in the chrome silicon springs and green followers they supplied.  At the range they have run perfectly, INCLUDING with blanks fired by one of my LEO buddies.

I want to chime in with my 2cents
I love the 25 or so I have and find I "Hard Use " them more than my aluminum  mags.
I belive rust is a BS issue.
I have steel mags for my HK-91,that where surplus mags. They are true 100%. They are date of manufacture marked 4/61. That is when I was born!
Will they last foreever? HELL NO! , but neither will I!
They will last long enough! IMHO

I think they are outstanding mags.
They work, fit, and function In both my bushies and both my RR with no problems.

And thats my 2cents.
worth what It costya

Great mags at good prices. Got a great deal on some this weekend at Bulletfest this weekend, Ohio Rapid Fire was selling them at a price of 5 for $55 NIW for either the parked or blued steel versions. Brought my collection up to 25 of these mags and although I only rotate through 5 of them on a regular basis, those five have functioned flawlessly and I have no doubt that their performance is representative of the others.

yup, i spent a week outdoors in the rain with the ole ar, and the mags did rust, still work, but rusty

now i spray on some flat black paint when i buy em, it gives the added layer of protection, now the rust is not an issue

Which ones did you get from them.  The ones from England or the ones from Singapore?

I have a bunch of the parkerized steel Rotal Ordanance SA-80 mags from Ammoman.com These have black anti-tilt followers and very thick springs. They've been 100% for me. Nice mags.

These look just like the Singapore mags. Anybody know if they are the same?

I also picked up a pair of the blued Imerial Defense mags from a trade. These do not have the anti-tilt followers in them. Haven't tried shooting with them yet though.

I don't have too much to add other than what has been stated above. I ordered a bunch of parkerized Royal Ordnance mags from ammoman awhile ago and changed them out with orange anti-tilt followers (same as the USGI greenies). The original followers seemed to flex more and were more prone to chipping than the USGI followers I replaced them with.

I got the parkerized Singapore mags from ORF. No real reason for choosing one over the other - I just liked the looks of the parked mags over the blued steel.

Do these two mags have the same followers?
