ReFinished Some Mags with Chalk Board Paint. After numerous testing of Paint, i have found that Chalk Board Paint Works well on Mags. It's a nice Matt Black or more like a dark Charcoal gray and the finish holds up good and at around $3-4 a can. I also used the Perm Slik its good but i dont like the light gray color. Hope they come out with a darker color. So for now and for me it's Chalk Board paint..... I'll post a pic soon

Plus, it has the added bonus of making it possible to write on your mags with chalk.

Yes u can write on it, (so everyone knows it's yours :). But that may be why it seems to hold well due to writing on it.  The dark mag is Chalk Board Paint about 1 1/2 years old and used about dozen times. The gray is Perma Slik and is less than a year and used less than a dozen times. The Gray one may have had more pouch time. The Chalk Paint is very much in texture as Perma Slik, kinda like a powder finish...

I Disassemble mag, Clean under warm water using Dawn and a toothbrush. Then Warm in oven then paint at once.

**** Zynolyte **** is the paint brand name

Sounds interesting. Can you post the brand name  of the paint as many paint manufacturers have a product called chalkboard paint, some of which would not be suitable for mag refinishing. I'd like to start with a known winner.
