Just purchased 5 used Colt 20-rounders.  When they are loaded with about 10 or more and you try to unload the magazine by just pushing the rounds forward, they get stuck on the front of the magazine.  They are hanging up where the bullet meets the casing.  When you cycle them slowly through the gun (BM), they also hang up.  However, when you let the carrier slam forward, they seem to function normally.  They will probably function ok at the range, but has anyone notice this hangup before, and is that normal?

Normal,  as you noticed when fully loaded the bolt has enough force to strip forward.  When unloading by hand we use the tip of a round to strip the rounds from the mag.

Use a Maglula to unload your mags.
