Ar 15 Magazine Question > Magazines

I just picked up some Ar15 Mags , the Gunshop said that they are "GI" mags.

They are Stamped : Adventure Line and Center industries on the floor plates are these Mags Good Quality? I guess i should have asked before i buy.

I've got some of both and have never had problems with them. I recently added Green Followers to all of mine. Later...

Check the top of this forum for the Mag FAQ- [url]http://www.ar15.com/forums/announcement.html?b=3&f=17&id=26[/url], and let it be your guide. At least the core of your mags should be aluminum USGI. All the makers are the "same" save for Coopers as listed in the FAQ. As to how many 30's or 20's, whether you should try Thermolds and Orlites, whether you should buy NIW or not, blah, blah is open to discussion.

Thanks a lot Guys, i should have checked out the FAQS first.

The Mags that i bought looks new , the Floor plates arent rvrn scrathed or anything, but they have the Typical dingy GI Aluminum look to them.
The Gun shop is selling them for $50 but i know the owner so he let me have them for $40 a piece.

Thats way too much $ they should be about $15 each, in good condition..

That gunshop owner is a thief!

Now i know better Guys, next month Feb. 2nd. I am going to a Gun show out here on Long Island New York, i bet i'll get them a lot cheaper there.!

am going to Outdoor Expo at LI Coliseum Thursday- will post on results of my "hunt" for USGI mags and 5.56. Didn't have the nerve to ask price at my local gunshop in Seaford(-:

I bought 3 aluminum, GI, green follower 30 round mags today for a total price of $25. Two were Center Industries and one was Sanchez. All 3 are in very good condition.
