I managed to get two used USGI 30 round mags (LaBelle and Sanchez) from a local gun shop and a NIW Okay mag from somewhere else. I also have a USA 20 rounder that came with my gun which is so crappy that I went out and bought the last USGI mags my local gun shop had. Question is do I need to buy more for shooting now or should it be  pick up more as you find them, 3 is adequate for the present?

You must have more! Buy more now, and then buy more as you see them!

Also take that 20rd USA, unload it, place under the wheel of your automobile and drive over it.  That will save you alot of headache in the future

There is probably no rush to get them now, but do stop by the Magazine section of the Equipment Exchange regularly, and pick up more as you find good deals.

Or...get lucky like I have and take all your ex-military friends shooting who do not own an AR-15.
A lot of them will give you their old mags for free or for beer!

A pistol with no magazine is just a rock, and a rifle with no magazine is just a stick.

I recommend a minimum of 10 USGI mags per rifle.  20 per is better.
