After coming to the conclusion that my barrel's throat is most likely not reamed deep enough (NO jump space), would I be better off purchasing the hand reamer ($250) to fix it, or purchase a better quality barrel? If I buy the barrel, I would also have to buy go- no-go gauges. The hand reamer works with the current barrel in place, and is simple to use. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Fairly deep issue you're about to wade into.

What problem led you to look into this?
How did you determine this is actually present?

If it were me, I'd buy a new barrel and not look back.

Checking length to ogive with O.A.L. gauge, several different type of bullets had to be seated to 1.802" to 1.807" (to create 0.00" baseline for jump space). Length of three different kinds of factory rounds were 1.898" to 1.913" to ogive. This means I have .100" of jam on a factory round. Checking a chambered round with Prussian Blue verified that the bullet was jammed all the way into the rifling. Michigun.com was aware of this problem, and created a reamer to be used by hand to correct throat size, but it is $250.
