Hi All
Have purchased some Colt 223 62 grain ammo.  Looking at buying some more.
Intuitively, I am thinking that the zinc plating is better than the poly or lacquer.
I have quite a bit of the 9x18 Silver Bear.
However, do not really know that it is actually better.

I also have a fair amount of Wolf Gold which is brass/boxer stuff, so happy with that.

Interested in what others might think.

The Colt branded stuff IS re-branded Silver Bear. I do prefer the Silver Bear over the other steel case ammo, but I can't give any scientific proof as to why it is better. That being said, I much prefer brass cased ammo to steel case any day of the week.

I have never shot the Colt Branded Silver Bear ammo. but I have put many hundreds of rounds of the actual Silver Bear and Brown Bear down range and the ammo has always performed well for me...  So If Colt allows it's name to be placed on Brown Bear Ammo, you can be sure it will perform as intended...

I've had great luck over the years with Brown Bear and Silver Bear,I preferred the old lacquer coating on the BB but it still functions just fine,I just wish I could find it for olden day prices

I purchased some of the Colt branded ammo for my 308. Finally got to shoot it this weekend. I wasn't expecting a real tight group with this ammo but it was inexpensive and I shoot a lot. I was shooting behind the house and only have 75 yards to target and all my shots were hitting low. I loaded up some Winchester and as I thought, my scope was about dead on. I thought that was sort of interesting and loaded some Federal and those were hitting about an inch below the Winchester as I expected.
What really amazed me was that the Colt was shooting 8" below the Federal.
These Colt rounds are good if you want to hear a loud bang and want the round to hit somewhere in the area of the target but I sure wouldn't bet my life on them.
